Deaf, Disabled Elderly Man Stun-Gunned by Police - Braindead on Arrival to Hospital

What what?

As someone who just recently watched the footage of that ass pepper spraying all those students at UC Davis, I gotta say, this is getting ridiculous!

I got nothing but love for cops - seriously, a ton of my buddies ended up being cops (thank god FB wasn't around when we were in high school wink, wink) but the use of tasering, stun guns and pepper spray is, in my opinion, a questionable abuse of force MOST OF THE TIME.

So, here's the deal -

There's this dude in North Carolina named Roger Anthony.  The locals call him Rabbit (because of his big ears - awwww!) and he likes to "...smoke cigarettes, drink coffee and ride his bicycle around town."  He lived in an independent living community because he is, excuse me WAS disabled, had frequent seizures and trouble hearing.

A call came into the local cop shop one night about a man who had fallen off his bike in a parking lot and needed assistance...Officer Turner responded to the call and found Rabbit gettin' his bike on ridin' down the street.  He pulled up next to Rabbit and blared his sirens, he ordered him to pull over but sadly, Rabbit couldn't hear him.
"...Turner then saw Anthony take something out his pocket and put it into his mouth. At that time, Turner got out of the car and yelled for Anthony to stop. When Anthony didn't stop, the officer used a stun gun on him, causing him to fall off of his bike."
Rabbit was taken to a hospital, where he was declared brain dead.  He was taken off life support shortly after...

The cop has been placed on administrative leave - it was his first month on the force.

Sad.  RIP RABBIT!
