Okay, here's the deal...
Starbucks in France (Les Starbucks if you will) made some anti-pickpocketing/pro-being-alert-so-people-don't-steal-les-shit posters because apparently people pickpocket each other in France like it's fucking 1944 and they basically just wanted to have their
The SOS Racisme (that sounds legit, yo!) believe that Starbucks' new poster which "featured a man with dark skin surrounded by arrows pointing to various objects," suggests that brown-skinned people pickpocket. Sonsofbitches! I'm a brown-skinned person and I never pickpocketed shit!
So, SOS demanded removal of the posters and Starbucks complied like a bunch of little bitches.
Thing is the poster campaign includes a "white, brown-haired woman" version of the poster with her head similarly surrounded by arrows pointing to valuables - the group is just harping on the brown-skinned one. Well, what about the white chick??? Huh??? It sickens me that middle class white women can't catch a break! Pfft.
Not to mention that a Starbucks spokesperson said that the people depicted in the drawings were customers, not pickpockets. I don't really trust Starbucks though, they had the balls to put on their dumb maybe-racist poster that customers need to not "let pickpockets spoil your moment of relaxation at Starbucks."
Seems believable enough as both the man and the woman in the poster are smiling which, to me, suggests that they're just getting their triple macchiato on but whatevs, I try not to read too much into anything.
