That...is pretty badass.
A Reddit user named Lycerius has been playing the same game of Sid Meier's epic game Civilization II for just under a decade! How cray is that? His dedication alone is impressive!
Thing is, the poor guy says that the future world is a shithole and a half. Lycerius described it as, "a hellish nightmare of suffering and frustration."
Oh snap!
I play Civilization IV quite a bit and I could totally see that lol!!! It gets pretty gnarly once other players start getting nuclear weapons!
Lycerius is currently playing in the year 3991 AD and shit is not going well > Nuclear wars have all but destroyed any viable land for farming, the polar ice caps have melted and the only land left for the three "superpowers" to wield power from are the mountain tops. About 90% of the population is dead due to famine and nuclear fallout.
The Celts, Vikings and Americans are the three superpowers and they have been at war with almost everyone for 1700 in game years! (To those who don't know, war can be totally decimating in Civ!)
Says the supergamer, "I thought it would be interesting to see just how far into the future I could get and see what the ramifications would be." His goal now is to bring the world back to life so to speak and he is currently accepting suggestions from other Civ players.
If anyone has any tips for this guy, help him out! I respect him, but I also kind of feel sorry for him.
It's a real rollercoaster of emotions...
